PACU Nurses – Permanent Part-Time

Casual, part-time and full-time positions currently available at all SCI centres

Job Description

PACU Nurses required for surgical facility (Paediatric Dental, Orthopaedics, Plastics, General, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy)

Qualifications:

Current registration with provincial regulatory body.

  • Successful completion of Critical Care Certificate required, additional PACU certification preferred.
  • Recent PACU experience required; candidates without recent PACU experience may be considered if they have completed the Critical Care Certificate.
  • Current BLS certificate required, issued by Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a program recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
  • ACLS and PALS issued by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a program recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
  • Recent cardiac arrhythmia experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving abilities and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to on-going education.

Operating Room Nurses (RN)

Casual, part-time and full-time positions currently available at all SCI centres

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing perioperative patient care, the individual will demonstrate competence in delivering safe, competent, and ethical care in both a scrub and circulating role in an integrated team.

Qualifications:
  • Current registration with appropriate provincial regulatory body
  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing, baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred
  • Must have current operating room experience or have successfully completed a perioperative course (within the past year)
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • ACLS certification an asset
  • Current scrub and circulating skills
  • Complies with patient safety standards


Licensed Practical Nurses / Operating Room Technicians (ORT)

Casual, part-time and full-time positions currently available at all SCI centres

Job Summary :

Responsible for providing perioperative patient care. Within scope of responsibility, the individual will deliver safe, and ethical care in a scrub role in an integrated team.

Qualifications:
  • Current registration with appropriate provincial regulatory body
  • Must have a post graduate operating room course from approved college
  • Minimum 2 year current O.R. experience preferred
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • Complies with patient safety standards
  • Proven excellent team member with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
